Having worked for two of the world's most admired Fortune Global 500 companies, Andrew’s experience in leadership at boardroom level, within the information technology, communications, retail and non-governmental, non-profit sectors, has been exceptional in preparing him to join the most commercially competitive industries.

Working at Microsoft for over fifteen years, Andrew was vice-president responsible for directing people strategies and agenda in Customer Services & Support, one of Microsoft's largest divisions, a nine-thousand person international business that provides billions of technical product support and customer service interactions to thousands of Microsoft customers across 191 countries and 46 languages. Accountable for developing and overseeing the execution of the people and organisational effectiveness agenda, in partnership with client business leaders.

Previously serving as Senior Director of People & Organization Capability, Microsoft Services, a team dedicated to helping businesses and consumers, maximise the value of their investment in Microsoft technologies. These roles included being part of the Global Human Resource Organization leadership team, providing a broad range of talent, leadership, and organisational development, helping to lead the company through unprecedented growth. These roles required succession planning at the highest level, a selection process that mirrored the competencies and values required to achieve growth, training and development that supported the focus on leadership, and an organisational structure where bright people are challenged.

Before this role, Andrew was Geographical Human Resources Director, Canada accountable for approximately 1,900 employees in Microsoft Retail and Entertainment & Devices. Responsible for developing and overseeing the people strategy and execution by working closely with the Area Vice President, corporate functions, segment and local HR team to accelerate business impact and outcomes through talent.

Joining Microsoft straight from University in 1998 Andrew held a number of management and marketing positions across Microsoft’s consumer, hardware, and productivity businesses prior to becoming a director of the Home & Retail Division. Responsible for overseeing development and business strategy for consumer hardware, software, and Macintosh products across the Pacific Northwest District.

Outside office hours Andrew enjoys the challenges and diversity of abseiling, face climbing, yachting, and scuba diving and is a keen winter sports enthusiast, enjoying both skiing and ice hockey. Andrew also holds a Private Pilot Licence and flies in the United States and Europe.


Andrew earned a congratulatory first-class first, bachelor's degree in philosophy, politics and economics from Balliol College, Oxford University. Graduating valedictorian from the Haas School of Business at the University of California, Berkeley Andrew holds a doctorate in organizational management and a master’s degree in Business Administration, reading organizational behavior and industrial relations. In addition, he holds a doctorate (EdD) in human and organizational learning from The George Washington University, Graduate School of Education and Human Development.

Andrew is a fellow of the Chartered Institute of Personnel Development, where for over ten-years he has served as an officer of the Devon & Cornwall branch. Andrew's certifications and memberships include senior certified professional and global professional from the Society for Human Resource Management in the United States, is a member of the Association of Information Technology Professionals. and is European representative for the Microsoft Alumni Network.

Andrew is the co-founder and chief operating officer of the charity Prosthetics, Orthotics and Rehabilitation Technology in 2006, an organisation with the vision to bring about better patient care for people with mobility challenges through national and international development, having become an amputee in that strives to September 2001.

Believing in social responsibility, before it became ‘Social Responsibilty’ from his late teens, Andrew become a Police Special at the age of eighteen and has volunteered within the charitable sector, having spent more than twenty-five years working with Mencap and other disability partners. Andrew also sits on the board of the Torbay and South Devon NHS Foundation Trust and the Patient Advice and Liaison Service Committee for Exeter Mobility Centre, at the Royal Devon & Exeter Foundation Trust.

Maintaining close ties with his alma mater the University of California, Berkeley, Andrew is a board member at the Center for Responsible Business at Berkeley-Haas and is an advocate for the Cal Alumni Association.
